My design practice has its roots in art and athletics. Throughout my life, I’ve been drawn to artful explorations of human experience. Movies, books, conversations, all some of my favorite forms of connection. The spaces I most enjoyed expressing my own perspective were in my sketchbook and on the track.
I’ve come to understand that far enough down the path, mastery of any craft becomes mastery of the self. I’ve allowed these two areas of my life to inform each other. I’ve designed a map of my running system and I’ve shaped my work with the deeply human insights I glean from my time in training and competition.
The cutting edge of my practice recognizes the power of Ontological Design, where the things we design shape our ways of being in the world. I want to use this framing to cultivate flourishing.
